I have never really been one of those girls who focuses on a skin care routine that encompasses lots of products. I am 37 and for as long as I can remember my skin care routine has consisted of a good scrub in the shower with some shower gel, followed up with a bit of cream ... CBA levels dependant. I see the shock on your face right now.... sorry!!
I was on a video call the other week with Bobbi (give her a follow on insta, her account is fab https://www.instagram.com/thewhitecottagestory/ ) and I noticed how positively glowing she looked!! Her skin was radiant, smooth and looked so flawless. As with most video conferencing facilities you get to see your own face and I found myself comparing my own skin to hers.
Juxtaposition... 'the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect'. Contrasting being the prevalent word!! My skin looked dull, tired and dehydrated. Through conversation I learnt more about Bobbi' skin care routine.
**ACTION NEEDED** It hit me like a truck. The little voice inside my head whispered
you are not getting any younger and you don't want to look like corrugated cardboard in a few years time
I got off the call and headed straight over to https://www.beautybay.com/ I had to have some of the face medicine that Bobbi professed to be life changing.... £37 later I had committed to changing things up, yep that is right £37! WHAT A BARGAIN!!

So here is the routine. Carried out morning and evening- the same routine for both apart from a small tweak for the evening routine.
Step 1- Cleanse. Massage this into your face. You will feel the cleanser melt as it warms up. I take the opportunity to massage under my chin(s) and massage the fine lines around my eyes. Rinse this off with warm water and pat your face with a towel to take off the excess water. Repeat this twice.
Step 2- Rose water. Spray your face with rose water. This awakens the senses and is really refreshing. Leave this on the face to soak in and move to step three.
Step 3- Hyaluronic Acid. Whilst your face is still damp from the rose water spritz use the pipette to put a few small drops on your face. I add it to my forehead, cheeks and chin.
Step 4-Moisturise. Once you have massaged the hyaluronic acid in, get a pea sized blob of moisturiser and massage this into your face.
For the night time routine, swap out the moisturiser for hemi-squalane. Add a few drops to the forehead, cheeks and chin and massage into the face. Leave this to soak into the skin whilst you sleep. You wake up with really soft and hydrated skin in a morning. Little tip... you can pop some of this onto the ends of your hair to give it a moisture boost!!
Last but not least, 2-3 times a week give yourself a little face mask. I chose to use a purifying bubble mask. This was recommended because I have visible pores on my nose. This mask feels really funny as it bubbles away. Carry out the mask and then follow your routine.
I know what you are thinking. How the hell do I fit this in twice a day?!!
Honestly it takes a couple of minutes to do. It is really easy. I am 4 weeks into this routine and there is a noticeable difference. My skin feels plumper (winner... I need this), smoother and hydrated. My make up now goes on flawlessly on it stays on! Lockdown has meant that I have not been wearing makeup as much as I normally do but when I have popped some on I am really pleased with how it sits! My husband is also benefiting from this, he has a youthful, fresh faced looking wife hanging off his arm. What a lucky man he is!!
Of course lovely! We can get you all set up... you won’t look back I promise!! X
I really need to start doing this. Once my makeup is sorted, I’ll definitely be coming to you for advice on this stuff. I’ve bought loads in the past and never used it. I guess it’s time 🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️ 👵
